Kindergarten Update

  Mrs. Hohenstein’s Kindergarten Update April 18-22, 2016 “Saved to Serve”
Jesus Time: Paul is Shipwrecked (Acts 27) While Paul was a prisoner on a ship, he reassured everyone that although the storm would destroy their ship, God’s plan was that they would all survive. God, our deliverer, promises to be with us during difficult times. Bible words: Be strong and courageous…God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 Reading: We have completed our alphafriends so we will be using different books over the next few weeks to review different reading concepts. This week we will be using the book “Ten Little Puppies” by Elena Vazquez and illustrated by Scott Nash to help us with sentence structure, alphabetizing, and rhyming. Our new sight words are: do, was. Math: We will finish up on telling time to the hour and move on to measurement. Science: We will begin a unit on Animals…this week concentrating on mammals. ·         Japan Day was awesome! I hope your child was able to tell you some interesting facts about Japan! ·         We will be visited by an accreditation team today and tomorrow, so your child may tell you about some visitors in the building! J ·         We will have Faith Families Wednesday this week. ·         Hopefully we will have some chicks in a week! ·         Permissions slips for the field trip are due May 2…students are free but chaperone money is due with the permission slip.
